Conferences: The BlogRollers Media to Present Panel Discussion at Product Camp Atlanta

>> February 1, 2010

The BlogRollers Media and fellow Atlanta-based blogger/marketer Mami2Mommy are planning to present a panel at ProductCamp Atlanta this Saturday, February 6th on the campus of Georgia Tech.
ProductCamp Atlanta is a FREE, collaborative, user organized professional un-conference, focused on Product Management and Marketing topics. It's a great opportunity for participants to learn from, teach to, and network with professionals involved in the Product Management, Marketing, and Development process from the Atlanta area.
At ProductCamp, everyone will participate in some manner: presenting, leading a discussion, showcasing a best practice, or sharing their experiences. Others help with logistics, securing sponsorships, organizing sessions, or settng up/cleaning up. This is a self organizing collaborative event that is designed be a fun, rewarding and a unique experience.

We say "planning to present a panel discussion" because in true un-conference fashion, the participants will be voting on the sessions they want to have. We have presented a panel on using multiple social media platforms and using bloggers to launch or spread your marketing message. Below is Christie Crowder's interview with David Eckoff on what we hope participants will take home from our session:

Whether you are planning to attend ProductCamp Atlanta or not, we'd love your help in getting our session considered! Please CLICK HERE to vote for our session and leave a comment too (if you are so inclined). Feel free to spread the word on Twitter and Facebook as well.  We appreciate your support!

Project News: Carol's Daughter's "A Magical Beauty Collection" Promotion Campaign

>> January 5, 2010

We were so pleased to create this blogger campaign to celebrate our newest Disney Princess, Tiana, her movie, The Princess and The Frog, and help promote Carol's Daughter's new line of products for children, The Magical Beauty Collection!

The Magical Beauty Collection:

Beloved for its genuinely natural products, Carol’s Daughter was a natural choice for creating a Princess Tiana-themed hair and body collection. Gentle enough for children and appealing to parents, the fanciful product line delivers the benefits of natural ingredients such as aloe leaf juice, sunflower seed oil, cranberry fruit extract and lemon peel. The Magical Beauty Collection captures Princess Tiana’s unique experience in one universal collection, making every aspiring princess feel like Tiana at bath time. Each product features an inspirational message reflecting the values and lessons that Tiana learns during her journey, making The Magical Beauty Collection a way for girls to connect with Disney’s newest princess.

The Campaign:

We started the campaign with Disney's Magical Mocha Moms, a unique group bloggers who we are affiliated with.  We were all hand-selected to participated in the African-American Mom-Bloggers Mixer at Walt Disney World in 2008-2009.  These bloggers were a natural fit to kick-off this project due to our collective experience with Disney and our excitement over having a new African-American Disney Princess.  Many of us also have a lot in common with Carol's Daughter founder, Lisa Price as we are mothers and entrepreneurs and we want good, quality products for ourselves and our children.

All participating bloggers received sample products from The Magical Beauty Collection and were asked to write a review post or an advertorial post about the products and include some of the following themes:

        * Positive images of beauty for young women / young women of color
        * The importance of having Tiana as a Disney Princess
        * Being who you are / Loving who you are
        * Natural ingredients for beauty and health / Natural beauty / Natural hair
        * Female Entrepreneurs (Yourself, Tiana, and Carol's Daughter founder, Lisa Price)

Here are links to some of the posts from the participating Disney Magical Mocha Moms:

Carol's Daughter has decided to continue the campaign through January and has opened it to all interested bloggers!

Project News: Hope Is Our Path...

>> December 10, 2009

As many of you may already know, The BlogRollers have been honored to be a part of the digital outreach team for such an important and powerful project – Macy’s Rwanda Path to Peace. It’s been truly a pleasure to work on a project that literally puts shoes on children’s feet, empowers women and changes lives. Inspired by this, we’ve joined forces with our friends, Fiona Bryan (Bantering Blonde) and Barbara Collins (Madre Minutes) to launch Hope Is Our Path where we’ll host the final initiative for our Path to Peace campaign.

Hope Is Our Path(HIOP) is a site created for individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, and charity groups to host and share their "Hope" initiatives with the on-line community. While dreams are achieved with action, they all begin with a little Hope.

Each initiative has its own “Path” designed to highlight the program or cause; and create community awareness and participation. Born from a brainstorming session about the Path to Peace project with Fiona and Barbara, we realized the potential and power of sharing information about multiple programs in one dedicated space. It is our Hope that through HIOP we can increase exposure on the many important community-service programs making a difference in our world and inspire people to get involved.

Our First Path: Path to Peace

Hope is Our Path...To Peace is our way of continuing this journey of HOPE and empowerment for the Rwandan/New Orleans women and for all women in a pay-it-forward initiative. As female/mom entrepreneurs ourselves, we understand what it feels like to do something you are passionate about and then get paid to do it so you can contribute to your household. We imagine these women feel this way too. We also know how good it feels to give a gift that means so much in so many ways and see it inspire others to give as well. This is our Path! On the dedicated HIOP site there is a "Path" (group) set up for Path to Peace. We are encouraging participants to buy two or more bracelets (one to keep and one to give to a friend) in hopes that each recipient will pay-it-forward and keep the giving going. On the site you will find all the information needed to get started on the path.

How You Can Participate

1.) Join HIOP site and the "Path" yourself and pay-it-forward.

2.) Encourage your "payee" to do the same (as well as join the group)

3.) Promote this initiative on your blogs, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

4.) Share your story on the HIOP site as a blog post, or create a Whrrl story of it on our #Path2Peace page, etc. then connect them to your "payee" so we can see how far this goes!
